ABOUT

Founded in 2013 by Kiana Coleman, Matt Banks, and Brian Coleman, the Royal Guard Supporters Group is a volunteer-run organization whose purpose is to provide a safe, welcoming environment for all Reign fans and to facilitate fan activities like creating and displaying tifo and flags, cheering and singing during matches, and watch parties for away matches. The Royal Guard is committed to improving the visibility and standing of women's sports in the Seattle-Tacoma area and beyond. Volunteers

Meet some of our current volunteers:

  • Adrienne and Dei are our lead capos. Walter and Ken co-lead drums.

  • Walter and Ken co-lead our matchday team.

  • Adrienne leads our tifo team.

  • Erik leads our away days team.
  • Jake, Monica, Erik, and Ken cover socials and comms.
  • We couldn't fill the stadium with sound without help from the team's amazing band, Reign City Riot!

  • ...and we all wear many hats and help each other out.

We need your help!

If you would like to join our fun and welcoming crew, email Ken at royalguardsg@gmail.com. We are looking for help with matchday setup/teardown, tifo production, drumming, merch, and comms (membership emails).

Unsure where you fit in and still want to help out? That's great too! Let us know you're interested and we'll find a spot for you.

Setup

We set up The Keep, our section in the stadium. The equipment we move out of storage and set up includes capo stands, big drums, tifo, banners, flags, and song sheets. This team gets special entry to the stadium about two hours before kickoff.

Tifo

We design, paint, rig, and deploy large, painted displays. This team works both during the weeks leading up to and on matchday, with a minimum commitment of an hour.

Drums

We follow our capos and provide a solid foundation of beats for our cheers and songs. If you have some rhythm in you, join us! No drumming experience required; no minimum commitment to start. Contact us or just talk to Ken at the big drums.

Merch

We staff a table in the stadium concourse to promote our group, invite folks to become members, and sell merch. Outside of matchday, this team also works with our designers and manages the production of merch and web sales. Minimum commitment varies with role but starts at roughly one hour per month, with some work being online.

Comms

We author and produce occasional email announcements to members, coordinating with volunteers who handle our social media accounts and website. We also edit photos and videos for use across our various communications platforms. Minimum commitment is roughly one hour per month, all online.

Teardown

After each match, we move and stow away everything that we set up in The Keep, our section in the stadium, including capo stands, big drums, tifo, banners, and flags. This usually requires staying about 30–45 min. after the final whistle. Volunteers who work at field level will be provided with wristbands and must be masked at all times.
